11. Fold the long strand of Krystal Flash in half. Twist the folded end between your thumb and forefinger to put a permanent kink in the material—this will take the big loop out of it and allow the doubled-over strand to lie down easier on the hook shank. Tie this double strand down on top of the hook shank.

12. Pull back both ends of the double strand of Krystal Flash and tie it down so that it joins with the marabou of the tail. As you are bringing the thread wraps back to the butt of the tail, spread the Krystal Flash so that two strands fall to either side of the tail. Wrap the thread forward again and leave the bobbin hanging so the thread is even with the hook point.
